Pathway project updates

There’s been plenty of progress on our new accessible pathway over the past few weeks, and it’s exciting to see the route really beginning to take shape.

The first sections of edging have now been installed alongside the pond, creating a clear outline of the finished path. Work has since continued through the woodland, with the route now extending from the pond to the point where it will turn towards the new decking bridge.

Preparation is also well underway for the bridge and raised boardwalk sections, with the gaps now in place ready for installation.

Alongside the edging, work has also been progressing on laying and compacting the granite surface. This will provide a firm, durable finish that is suitable for a wide range of visitors while blending naturally with the surrounding landscape.

The recent spell of exceptionally hot weather has made conditions difficult for everyone on site, but the contractors have continued to make excellent progress! Just yesterday, the structure of the pathway support was set down.

We’re very grateful to the team for keeping us updated with regular progress photographs, allowing us to share the project’s journey as it develops. It’s wonderful to see the pathway emerging from what was previously just a vision on paper, and each week brings us another step closer to welcoming visitors onto the completed route.

We’ll continue to share updates as work progresses, and we’re also looking forward to bringing you a video of the finished project once construction is complete. Thank you for your continued interest and support.
